Inadequate 2004 Funding Could Derail Amtrak

Amtrak President David Gunn is smoking over the House Appropriations Committee's approval of $900 million for the national railroad's 2004 operations. Amtrak needs at least $1.812 billion and if they don't get it, says Gunn, no more "All Aboard" for America. In testimony before Congress, Gunn accuses lawmakers of "playing Russian roulette" with the nation's passenger rail service. Also see: Amtrak Announces Half Price Fares for Students
