West Nile Virus Infects 153 - 4 Deaths Reported

The CDC reported on August 7 that known cases of West Nile virus in the U.S. had tripled in less than a week. So far 153 people are reported with West Nile Virus infection from a total of 16 states. That includes 72 people from Colorado, 19 people from Texas, 15 people from Louisiana, and several people from the remaining 13 states. So far, four deaths from West Nile have been reported, including two in Texas, one in Alabama and one in Colorado. Read the CDC press statement. Also See: West Nile Virus Top US Health Threat
