Bush Says National Parks Need Repair

Hoping to clean up his environmental image, contaminated lately by his easing of federal logging restrictions, President Bush toured Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and highlighted his agenda for long-term care of America’s national parks. “And the first thing we've got to do is we've got to get a commitment from the appropriator's in Congress to spend enough money to maintain our parks.
