Ala. Justice Still Defends Ten Commandments Sculpture

In a classic battle of separation of church and state and the First Amendment, Alabama Chief Justice Ray Moore has again refused to remove a monument to the Ten Commandments from the rotunda of the State Supreme Court Building in Birmingham. The latest refusal by Moore comes after both a federal judge and his own colleagues on the Alabama Supreme Court had ordered the 5,300-pound sculpture removed.
