Majority of Voters Does Not Want Bush Back, Newsweek Poll Finds

Seeing Iraq as a potential quagmire, a majority of American voters now does not want to see President Bush elected to a second term in the 2004 presidential election, according to a poll conducted by Newsweek. Of those polled, 49 percent said they would not support Bush’s re-election, compared to only 44 percent who said they would. In an April poll, 52 percent supported Bush. The poll found that 69 percent of respondents were concerned that the U.S. “will be bogged down for many years in Iraq without achieving its goals there.” [Read the article] Also See: Latest War on Terror Headlines
