Majority of Voters Does Not Want Bush Back, Newsweek Poll Finds

Seeing Iraq as a potential quagmire, a majority of American voters now does not want to see President Bush elected to a second term in the 2004 presidential election, according to a poll conducted by Newsweek. Of those polled, 49 percent said they would not support Bush’s re-election, compared to only 44 percent who said they would. In an April poll, 52 percent supported Bush.
