U.S. Forces in Iraq Uncover Mass Grave of 3,000

Led to the site by local villagers, U.S. Marines in Iraq have unearthed the mass grave of over 3,000 Shiia Muslims killed following the uprising against Saddam Hussein in 1991. In this Department of Defense press release, U.S. defense officials estimate Saddam killed more than 350,000 Iraqis since he took power in 1979.
