SCHIP Provides Health Coverage to 5.8 Million Kids

Children without health insurance coverage is certainly one of the major failures of the American health care system. Fortunately, the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), created under the Clinton Administration, has helped address the problem. About 5.8 million children who otherwise would not have health coverage were enrolled in SCHIP during 2003 -- a 9 percent increase from the previous year. Get the details here...
