US School Children At Risk from Heavy Backpacks

Back to school go U.S. kids, with their backpacks slung over their shoulders. Backpacks, that is, often loaded down to weigh over a quarter of the child's own body weight. Not good at all, say chiropractors, who find that backpack weight is becoming an increasing health problem, with studies showing that heavy backpacks can lead to both back pain and poor posture.
