Government Denied 126,000 Gun Purchases in 2003

U.S. law enforcement agencies denied some 126,000 -- about 1.6 percent -- of 7,831,000 applications for firearm sales, transfers or permits during 2003. Those numbers reflect a continued decline in the number of gun purchases denied. The reason, says the government is that persons disqualified from owning guns truly fear the instant background checks required by the Brady Act. Read more...
