Government Denied 126,000 Gun Purchases in 2003

U.S. law enforcement agencies denied some 126,000 -- about 1.6 percent -- of 7,831,000 applications for firearm sales, transfers or permits during 2003. Those numbers reflect a continued decline in the number of gun purchases denied.
