This Obesity Thing is Getting Old
Saturday June 18, 2005
Obesity, obesity, obesity. Seems like the government sees large people. Now joining the federal fat fighters, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has created an obesity Trailblazer Team to, get this... "bring an agency-wide cross-cutting focus to combating the problem of overweight and obesity in the United States." Seems they're seeking the "synergy" needed to focus their existing obesity-fighting efforts. That'll melt some pounds off, won't it? Not too long ago, the CDC itself admitted to seriously overstating the number of people killed annually due to obesity. And remember that Tom Brady, Kobe Bryant, and President Bush are "obese" under the CDC's definition. Fries with that?
