As Hurricane hurricane Katrina threatens the Louisiana coast, and with NOAA predicting even more dangerous storms this hurricane season, you might need to know how simple it is to apply for FEMA disaster recovery assistance. In 2003 alone, FEMA paid out nearly $2 billion in recovery assistance to victims of 56 declared natural disasters.
