Flu, Flu, Who's Got the Flu?

Tuesday April 11, 2006
"Everybody in our (pick one) office, town, universe, has the flu." Do they, really? We hear that painful pondering all the time, but according to the people who should know -- doctors who treat it -- how truly widespread is the flu at any given time? For the true flu facts, the CDC's Weekly Flu Activity report is just what the doctor ordered. Along with the full-blown Current U.S. Weekly Flu Report, you can get a quick geographic picture of who's got the flu where, and a report of the flu around the world.

Note that these CDC reports are on the good old seasonal variety of flu that from 5% to 20% of the U.S. population has gotten every year since sick leave started, not the far more potent and potentially deadly Avian flu or Pandemic flu.

And since it comes from the CDC, you can also learn what to do if you get the flu and how to prevent the flu in the first place.
