Tony Snow Named New White House Press Secretary

Wednesday April 26, 2006
Rush Limbaugh didn’t want to take a pay cut, so conservative FOX Radio news anchor Tony Snow has taken the job as President Bush’s latest press secretary. Snow replaces Scott McClellan, who resigned last week.

As reported by the Chicago Sun Times, Snow has not always been totally friendly to President Bush, once referring to him as "something of an embarrassment," a leader who has "lost control of the federal budget," the architect of a "listless domestic policy" and a man who has "a habit of singing from the political correctness hymnal."

In announcing Snow’s appointment, President Bush said, “As a professional journalist, Tony Snow understands the importance of the relationship between government and those whose job it is to cover the government. He's going to work hard to provide you with timely information about my philosophy, my priorities, and the actions we're taking to implement our agenda.”
