Better Severe Weather Forecasts Coming

Both NOAA and the U.S. Air Force have announced the adoption of a new "advanced weather forecast model that predicts several types of extreme weather with substantially improved accuracy" for their day-to-day weather prediction needs. Forecasts from the new high-resolution weather research and forecasting model, or WRF will soon be coming to you, as NOAA plans for it to become the "backbone" of the nation's public weather forecasting system.
