FDA Issues Menu Pet Food Recall FAQ

he Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has published a Web page offering frequently asked questions and answers on the Menu Pet Foods recall. On March 16, Menu Foods, Inc. of Streetsville, Ontario, Canada initiated a voluntary recall involving a large number of both dog and cat foods produced at its facilities in Emporia, Kansas and Pennsauken, N.J. between Dec. 3, 2006 and March 6, 2007. The recalled products are moist (packaged in pouches) and canned diets. The products have been described as "cuts and gravy" style pet foods. I couldn’t agree more with this statement “The pet industry causes animal suffering and deaths, both for the animals used to make pet food and for the animals that eat the pet food.”
We as responsible pet owners should should make sure we stand up for our pets and work to end this. If more of us made our own dog food more dogs could be saved.
