ICE Arrests 42 Illegal Immigrants at Dulles Airport

Tuesday August 19, 2008
As thousands of airline passengers were standing in line to be screened or body scanned, having their behavior evaluated and their names checked against the FBI's massive terrorist watch list, 42 illegal aliens were working at Washington, D.C.'s Dulles International Airport. We know this now, because officers of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested them on the morning of August 13.

Among those arrested were nationals of Argentina, Bolivia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and Peru. Most of them were working on construction projects going on in various locations around the airport.

According to the Federal 9-11 Commission, the four terrorists who hijacked and crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, passed through security and boarded their plane at Dulles International.

So far during 2008, Immigration and Customs agents have made more than 700 administrative arrests and 100 criminal arrests at sensitive facilities such as airports, nuclear power plants, chemical plants, military bases, defense facilities and seaports.
