Sing 'Happy Birthday' to Fight Swine Flu

Friday May 1, 2009
From the “Government as Mommy and Daddy” file, comes word from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) that a quick rinse of the hands is not good enough to keep the swine flu away. To be really effective, the CDC suggests washing your hands with soap and clean, warm running water for at least 20 seconds, or about the time it takes to sing “Happy Birthday” twice. This “Happy Birthday” singing advice, along with everything else you will ever need or want to know about how and when to wash your hands comes from the CDC’s Health Topic Clean Hands Save Lives.
