As required since 1995, the White House has delivered to Congress its annual report of names, titles and salaries of all White House staff employees. The report also includes details on appointed Obama administration officials working at the Office of Policy Development, including the Domestic Policy Council and the National Economic Council.

According to the report, top paid Obama White House staffers include House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and press secretary Robert Gibbs both making $172,000 per year, the same as their counterparts in the Bush White House. Some other staff members making the maximum $172,000, include senior adviser David Axelrod, White House Counsel Gregory Craig, communications director Anita Dunn, speechwriting director Jonathan Favreau, senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, National Security Adviser James Jones, and National Economic Council Director Lawrence Summers.

The minimum annual salary paid to full-time White House staff members in 2009 is $36,000.

For the record; President Obama makes $400,000, Vice President Biden makes $227,300, Cabinet Secretaries make $193,400 and rank-and-file members of Congress make $174,000.
