Well, it has come to this. Social networking has become such a powerful political force that the President of the United States is hiring someone to manage his Twitter, Facebook and MySpace accounts.

It's true. The Democratic National Committee is currently taking online applications for a "social networks manager" to entertain and inform President Obama's more than 3.3 million Twitter followers and 7.6 million Facebook fans.

If this sounds like your dream job, remember that besides being, "Passionate about engaging millions of Americans in advancing President Obama's agenda and changing the country," you will need to be "ready to work hard; this isn't a 9-5 sort of job." And, of course, the "ability to work under pressure," while writing lots of "messages that move people to act," will be absolute necessities. Oh, you will also have to move to Washington, DC.

No, the ad does not say what the job pays, but trust me, you will earn every penny.
