'Mom-and-Pop' Home-based Businesses Soar

Did you know that over 70 percent of all businesses in the United States are home-based businesses with no paid employees? It's a fact, according to a U.S. Census Bureau report showing that the number of these, so called 'Mom-and-Pop' businesses grew from more than 16.5 million in 2000 to almost 17.0 million in 2001, a rate of growth of 2.7 percent.
