Bush Explains Massive NSA Call Data Collection
"We're not mining or trolling through the personal lives of millions of innocent Americans," stated President Bush. "Our efforts are focused on links to al Qaeda and their known affiliates. So far we've been very successful in preventing another attack on our soil."
Bush pointed out that congressional leaders had been briefed on the program and that the privacy of "ordinary" Americans is being "fiercely protected."
Referring to the USA Today report, the President stated, "As a general matter, every time sensitive intelligence is leaked, it hurts our ability to defeat this enemy."

The hue and cry over the phone lists is a big pile of political gamemanship. What’s the problem with doing some matching of phone numbers with suspected terrorists in the name of homeland security. Do you have something to hide, or are you just being ignorant of 9-11 and what ensures when we get lazy, or laxidazical? I’d rather they look than not. We need to think about whether we have to fight for our freedom in the trenches of our neighborhoods or get the intelligence gathering on a more sophisticated method. Sounds to me like a lot of people either have “double standards” they wish to hide or other infamous calls for illicet reasons? Which is it? Safe and sound or let everyone aid and abet the freedom we do enjoy?
