Bush, Cheney File Their Taxes

The White House has reported details of the 2007 tax returns filed by President and Mrs. Bush and Vice President and Mrs. Cheney.

According to the White House, President and Mrs. Bush reported total taxable income of $719,274 for tax year 2007, on which they paid $221,635 in federal income tax. The Bushes also reported making charitable contributions totaling $165,660.

Vice President and Mrs. Cheney reported total taxable income of $2,528,068, on which they owe federal taxes of $602,651. The Cheneys paid $466,165 of their total taxes through withholding and estimated tax payments during 2007 and sent the IRS the remaining $136,486 with their tax return. The Cheneys donated $166,547 to charity in 2007.

Due to their incomes, neither the Bushes or the Cheneys qualify for an economic stimulus tax rebate check.
