Poll: Should the President's Pay be Increased A proposal to double the Presidential salary to $400,000 per year starting in 2001 failed in Congress last year. (In a USA Today/CNN/Gallup poll conducted May 21-23, 1999, 64% of those polled said Presidential pay should NOT be increased.) What do you think? (Increase would not apply to President Clinton.)
