Detailing Allied Attacks (CNN) 2:30 pm - The U.S. military took two more al Qaeda fighters into custody today during a search of a bombed-out cave complex in eastern Afghanistan. Air Force Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stated U.S. officials hoped the two al Qaeda would be able to provide information about the terrorist organization's future plans. "Ministers of the Taliban and senior Taliban are coming one by one and surrendering and joining with us," stated a spokesman for the interim government. The whereabouts of Osama bin Laden and Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar remained a mystery. The Pentagon announced yesterday that it planned to stop "chasing shadows" in searching for bin Laden and Omar, focusing instead on destroying remaining pockets of al Qaeda resistance.
