  • Accused shoe-bomber Richard Reid pleaded not guilty on charges that he attempted to bring down a passenger get carrying 197 people by detonating gel explosives hidden in his shoes. [Details from Reuters]

6:15 am - Israeli F-16 jets launched a missile attack against the main Palestinian security compound in the West Bank town of Tulkarm, destroying the building. The attack appeared to be in retaliation for yesterday's deadly raid on an Israeli banquet hall by a Palestinian terrorist of the  Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.
