Dept. Seeks 5 Suspected al Qaeda Members [Photos] 6:45 pm - The next group of 34 Taliban and al Qaeda detainees landed at Guantanamo Bay, bringing the total to 144 prisoners now being held under extreme security. [See: Another 34 Detainees Arrive at Guantanamo Base (Reuters)] 7:30 am - A U.S. helicopter crashed in northern Afghanistan. According to U.S. Army officials, two of the seven Marines on board were killed. "A CH-53E deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom crashed today ... in a remote region of northern Afghanistan," according to an Army statement issued from the Marine base near Kandahar.
