4:30 pm - Following a meeting with leader of the interim-Afghan government, Hamid Karzai, President Bush state that the US will help establish and train a new Afghan military and "bail out" foreign peacekeepers in Afghanistan, if necessary. 6:30 am - Afghan forces with U.S. advisers raided a hospital in Kandahar, Afghanistan, killing six al Qaeda fighters who were hiding in the building. "Six Arabs are dead. We gave them an ultimatum. They would not talk, they would not negotiate. They were fighting to the last moment," stated a spokesman of the Kandahar governor. Five members of the Afghan security force were wounded in the raid. 5:45 am - Israeli police shot and killed an Arabian man suspected of being a terrorist near Tel Aviv. The shooting took place only one day after the latest Palestinian suicide bombing killed one and more than 110 Israelis. [See: Israeli Police Kill Suspected Palestinian Attacker (Reuters)]
