6:00 pm - A federal grand jury in Alexandria, Virginia, indicted captured American Taliban fighter John Walker Lindh on 10 charges including conspiracy to kill American citizens in Afghanistan. The grand jury added four charges to those listed in the original complaint against Walker Lindh. [See: Accused American Taliban Fighter Seeks Release (Reuters)]

2:00 pm - The government of Iran asked the U.S. for help in arresting al Qaeda fighters who might have fled into its country from Afghanistan. The request came days after President Bush included Iran along with Iraq and North Korea, as part of what Bush declared an "axis of evil" countries bent on developing weapons of mass destruction for use against the U.S. and its allies. 7:00 am - Pakistani police identified and were searching for three men they believe may have been involved in the kidnapping of Wall Street Reporter Daniel Pearl. "We have identified three main suspects in Pearl's case and if we manage to catch any one of them it will lead us to resolve this case," a police official told reporters.
