DefendAmerica.mil 5:00 pm - An Air India flight from London to New York City was escorted by Canadian Canadian F-18 fighters jets after a report that one of the passengers was traveling under a name similar to that of a person listed on an an international watch list. No disturbance was reported on the flight and Air India flight 101 landed without incident at John F. Kennedy Airport, where the "suspicious passenger" was met by FBI agents. [See: Fighters tail Air India jet with 'suspicious passenger' (CNN)] 1:00 pm - Some 100 al Qaeda and Taliban prisoners being held at the U.S. Navy base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba staged a hunger strike after guards forced on prisoner to remove a makeshift turban during prayers. According to U.S. military officials, turbans are forbidden because they could be used to conceal weapons. [See: U.S. Guantanamo Prisoners Stage Hunger Strike (Reuters)] 7:00 am - Members of the Palestinian militant group al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades threatened an attack on the Jewish town of Gilo, unless the Israeli army stopped its raid against the West Bank refugee camp of Balata. "We declare that in a couple of hours, if the Israelis do not pull out of Balata refugee camp, we are going to attack Gilo settlement with all kinds of weapons, even with missiles," said an unnamed representative of Brigades, a group thought to have ties with Yasser Arafat's al Fatah faction.
