[See: Bush Offers U.S. Help to Pakistan to Find Attacker (Reuters)] 6:00 am - FBI Director Robert Mueller alerted U.S. allies to be on the alert for attempts by al Qaeda members to produce weapons of mass destruction. Mueller stated that evidence captured in Afghanistan showed that Osama bin Laden and his al Qaeda terrorists were trying to assemble materials to construct biological, chemical and nuclear weapons. Tommy Franks, commander of U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan stated "Operation Anaconda will be completed in 12 hours." Franks spoke at a ceremony to award medals to U.S. soldiers who fought in the battle to remove al Qaeda and Taliban holdouts from the mountains of eastern Afghanistan near the Shahi Kot valley.
