DefendAmerica.mil 1:00 pm - U.S. officials reported to Reuters that troops had discovered a potential al Qaeda biological warfare plant under construction in southern Afghanistan, near Kandahar. "It wasn't completed, so they weren't at the point of producing weapons yet. There were no samples of biological agents," Air Force Maj. Bill Harrison told Reuters. "Their [al Qaeda's] means of carrying out some of their strikes and controlling areas is now gone," said U.S. Lt. Colonel David Gray at the Bagram air base. "When you've got leaders on the run that's a good thing. Because they don't have a lot of time to sit there and plan out these operations," he said.
