10:30 am - An apparent assassination attempt against Afghanistan's interim defense minister resulted in the deaths of four people and the wounding of more than 20 others. "It is not only to kill me, they just wanted to disrupt and send a message," Afghan Defense Minister Mohammad Qassim Fahim said after surviving the attack. [See: Explosion rocks Afghan convoy (CNN)]
