Appropriate Action Taken After Threat Warning (Reuters) --
White House spokesman Ari Fleischer stated that President Bush had
taken "all appropriate action" after being informed of possible
aircraft hijackings prior to the Sept. 11, 2002 terrorist attacks.
"The president did not -- not -- receive information about the use of
airplanes as missiles by suicide bombers. This was a new type of attack
that was not foreseen," said Fleischer.
