Detailing Allied Attacks (CNN) 6:00 pm - The Taliban continued to hold their last two strongholds of Kandahar and Kunduz, but claimed to no longer know the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden. [See: Taliban Hang On, Lose Track of Bin Laden (Reuters)] 10:00 am - U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell told a "FOX News Sunday" audience he thought Osama bin Laden was still in Afghanistan, but running out of places to hide. "A lot of reports suggest that is freedom to maneuver has become quite limited," said Powell. The Secretary also stated that he did not think bin Laden had nuclear weapons, but was interested in obtaining them. [See: Bin Laden Probably Still in Afghanistan, Powell Says (Reuters)] 7:00 am - A United Nations envoy was attempting to convince the Northern Alliance to work with native Afghan tribal warlords to form a unified broad-based government. The Taliban, who have now lost control of most of Afghanistan were said to still control their southern base of power in the city of Kandahar. [See: U.N.
