3:00 pm - U.S. bombing in Afghanistan resumed with laser-guided munitions being dropped on caves and munitions dumps north Kandahar. [See: U.S. Resumes Bombing in Afghanistan (Reuters)]

2:45 pm - A member of Afghanistan's interim government stated that four Arab al Qaeda were a part of the convoy struck by U.S. jets last week. Amanullah Zadran, minister of border affairs told reporters that stinger air-to-ground missiles were fired from the convoy and U.S. jets fired back. Up to 60 people were reported killed in the attack. Another representative Afghanistan's interim government angrily contended that the convoy carried only Afghan delegates on their way to Kabul to attend the opening of the new government.

Not Confirmed - 5:00 am - The Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) reported that U.S. forces had arrested a senior Taliban intelligence official in central Afghanistan. Former Taliban deputy intelligence minister Abdul Haq Waseeq was reported captured in the Muqur area of central Ghazni province. [See: U.S. Troops Arrest Senior Taliban Official - AIP (Reuters)
