Detailing Allied Attacks (CNN) 11:00 am - Villagers along the India-Pakistan border began fleeing their homes as the two nations moved closer to war while both governments stated a desire for peace. Officials ordered evacuations after exchanges of gunfire between troops over recent days have killed civilians on both sides of the border. [See: Villagers Flee India, Pakistan Border on War Fears (Reuters)] 2:30 am - India rejected Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's suggestion to hold negotiations between the two nuclear rivals, saying Pakistan must do more to stop militant groups. "India has always advocated dialogue with Pakistan but under the present circumstances, until Pakistan is able to create a conducive climate by acting resolutely and meaningfully against terrorism, the outlook for such dialogue cannot be promising," an official of the Indian government told reporters.
