Internet users can get up-to-date information on the wildfires currently consuming homes in the Los Alamos, NM area and threatening facilities of the Los Alamos National Laboratory from the National Interagency Fire Center.

Officials of Los Alamos National Laboratory stress that the possibility of damage to nuclear facilities at the laboratory due to the fire are remote and pose no threat to public safety. The lab follows an annual program of brush clearing to mitigate potential damage from wildfire.
