President Speaks on Food Safety

Dateline: 05/06/00

President Clinton spoke on food safety, emphasizing the danger of the potentially deadly food-borne pathogen called Listeria in his weekly Radio Address to the Nation on Saturday. Evidence of Listeria caused the recent recall of hot dogs and luncheon meats and has been identified as the cause of the deaths of 21 people a year and a half ago.
