1st Online Tax-Delinquent Property Auction

Dateline: 12/11/99

The first online auction of tax-delinquent property will be held January 31 through February 7, 2000 featuring over 100 tax-delinquent time-shares in various resorts in the Palm Springs, California area.

Owners of time-shares are allowed use of the apartment sized units for a specific period of time each year. However, time-share owners are subject to property tax. Under California law, any real property that has not had taxes paid on it for five or more years can be sold by the county in which it is located.

The properties to be auctioned are mostly one-week per year occupancy and described as "luxury resorts."

Palm Springs, California is a world-renowned resort destination, famous for its abundance of sun, golf and tennis facilities.

Complete auction information plus pictures and descriptions of the properties can be found on the Riverside County, CA Treasurer's / Tax Collector's Web site.
