Guide Picks - Top 5 Patriotic Musical Albums
Does anyone in America now not know the words to "God Bless America?" I don't know about you, but sometimes, these days, I just feel like singing or humming it or the National Anthem to myself. When you feel like celebrating America, here are some tunes to sing along to.
1) "God Bless America" CD - Various Artists
Produced by Columbia Records within days of the 9-11-01 attacks, this CD includes tracks from 19 top artists including Frank Sinatra, Lee Greenwood, and Gloria Estaban. The title song is a new version by Celine Dion similar to the performance she gave on the Tribute to Heroes telethon. Proceeds from the sale of the album are going to the Twin Towers Relief Fund.

2) "The Star Spangled Banner" CD - Whitney Houston
There are just two tracks on this CD -- "The Star Spangled Banner" and "America the Beautiful," both recorded live as beautifully performed by Whitney Houston. A truly memorable and stirring performance.

3) "America the Beautiful" CD - Elvis Presley
When the draft called Elvis, he took the oath and served. This unique CD single was produced to benefit the Red Cross Liberty Relief fund.

4) "Battle Cry of Freedom" CD - The Robert Shaw Chorale
The world famous Robert Shaw Chorale performs "The Battle Hymn of the Republic," "America the Beautiful," "The Star Spangled Banner," Marine hymns,  and several Civil War suites and songs in the 18-cut CD.

5) "Sing America" CD - Various Artists
Twenty-one of the most popular songs from American history and patriotism. "This Land is Your Land" - Peter Paul and Mary, "Back In The U. S. A." - Linda Ronstadt, "America" - Neil Diamond and "Fanfare For The Common Man" - Leonard Berstein/New York Philharmonic are just a few of the songs and artists featured.
