Since its inception in 1973, the Wild Horse and Burro Adoption program administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has become one of the U.S. government's most popular conservation programs. According to BLM, Americans have adopted over 169,000 wild horses and burros removed from public lands.

Horse & Burro Internet Adoption Web Site. Internet adoptions are held
periodically throughout the year with the next bidding scheduled in June or
July. All bidder and owner qualifications, instructions, and online bid form can

Free or Cheap Government Land
No matter what you may have heard or read, there is no such thing as "free
land from the government." There is no federal homesteading program and
